I let my family members know that I'm getting signs of a setback coming soon. I prepare the things that I use when I get a setback which help me feel better during setbacks (like ice packs, medication, grounding stones, etc.). I practice mindfulness. Because my diagnosis is dissociative identity disorder, I sort of call all my different identities together in my mind and try to find out which one of them is having a difficult time and why and how to resolve it.
