Does eating or drinking certain foods at specific times affect quality of sleep?
Increased consumption of dark fruits ( e.g. oranges, mangoes & kiwis ) and water were associated with good sleep quality while dehydrating food like soy sauce and alcohol adversely affected sleep.
The time at which you eat these sleep promoting foods also has an effect. For example, eating 2 kiwis per day 1 hour before bedtime for 4 weeks significantly increased total sleep time and sleep efficiency (the amount of time in bed spent asleep) in adults with self-reported sleep disorders.
These scientifically-tested sleep tips have helped some to sleep better. Try them out, and you might be rewarded with a better night’s sleep and a better you!
